Bonfire blues

3 November 2005

Bonfire celebrations in some parts of the country this weekend could end up as damp squibs.

Met Office forecasters are predicting more wet and windy weather for Saturday and Sunday. However, although there will be rain in all parts during the day on Saturday, the evening looks set to be drier, and less windy the further north you are. In contrast, the south will have a windy evening with rain at times, especially further west.

Ian Cameron, Head of Operations at the Met Office said: "People planning to go to bonfire night celebrations should keep an eye on their local forecast for the latest information."
