This weekend, 13/14 May 2006, sees the 46th Ten Tors event take
place on Dartmoor in the south-west of England. Organised each
year by the Army for young people, it is a test of endurance over
exposed terrain and more than 2,500 are expected to set off early
on Saturday morning.
With so many people out on the moor, knowing what the weather
is going to do will be vital to the success of the event. And,
as in previous years, the Met Office will be providing the organisers
with detailed forecasts from its Operations Centre in Exeter.
The forecast is also available on the Met Office and 10
Tors web sites.
