13 June 2006 Weather forecasting can be an uncertain science but the Met Office is constantly striving to improve both the accuracy of our forecasts and the message which the public receives. In an effort to gain further understanding of how forecasts are perceived and how we may better communicate the predicted weather, we have today launched an online questionnaire asking for feedback from the public. The questionnaire demonstrates a variety of options for presenting uncertainty in hypothetical five-day temperature forecasts. Results from the questionnaire will be used to inform our future plans.
