HadUKP: UK regional precipitation

Link to www.hadobs.org

HadUKP is a dataset of UK regional precipitation, which incorporates the long running England & Wales Precipitation (EWP) series beginning in 1766, the longest instrumental series of this kind in the world.

The series is currently based on weighted averages of daily observations from a network of stations in five regions. Data for a total of nine regions of the UK are available. Daily series for all sub-regions, and the monthly series for Scotland and Northern Ireland, begin in 1931.

Please note that we are planning to merge the HadUKP series with a newly developed England and Wales Rainfall series, which uses all available data since 1914. If you would like further information about the proposed merged precipitation series, please contact climat@metoffice.gov.uk.
